Ok, your #LifeInBag flat lay exposé*. In 1 sentence, please explain.
An organised mess – which is much like myself.
Sparro is a testament to high flying females known for their love and dedication to work, and working out. But also…to the one who may have been known to arrive at the gym with her top on inside-out (or backwards – sometimes both). Sound familiar?
Very. The worst is when I forget my sports bra and I’m forced to wear a regular underwire bra under a tight workout top! Not a good look and in no way comfortable either. As a result, I now pack everything the night before with checklist precision. It’s like I’m back at school.
We love working out for many reasons, but mostly because a solid sweat gets us offline, sharpens our focus and gives us the confidence and energy to smash some serious life goals. Tell us about your current targets (career, life or otherwise).
Big question. I set goals, but not in a traditional sense. At the moment, I’m certainly wanting to be the best person I can be. That includes approaching everything with kindness but also working hard. I want to give 100% to everything. I can’t see the point otherwise. For me, I feel that if I listen and learn, have compassion and work harder than anyone else, then personally I’ll be satisfied. Financially, I would like to buy another property in the next 5 years.
The daily workout. AM, PM or somewhere in between?
I get up at 3.30am for work, so it’s not in the morning! Having said that, if my boyfriend is interstate for work, I get up extra early to take the puppy for his first walk of the day. I will usually go straight from work to a Pilates or gym class at lunchtime. In the afternoon, I take my dog Utah for a long walk. And for me, it’s daily. Even those days when I’m working crazy hours at opposite ends of the day, I always find the time to do something active.
Your #LifeInBag breakfast of champions looks like …
Work is seriously fast paced in the morning for me, so it can be difficult! Usually – herbal teas, a protein shake or protein bar, fruit and yoghurt and coffee get me through until after the show. I like to start my day with some amount of protein. On Saturdays I have porridge from my local café.
Canned tuna for lunch on the go. Legendary, or LEAVE IT BEHIND?
I have lunch at home most days! Which is a bit of a luxury (even though I do get up so early)! My go-to at the moment is a big bowl of kale cooked with olive oil and lemon juice, with grilled chicken or halloumi.
Seriously smart, understated, Scandi-style design gets our wings flapping. What destination, space or event has recently inspired you?I recently holidayed in New York and loved it. The new Oculus Centre in the financial district is an incredibly light and design-driven space which felt like no other mall I’d ever seen. A restaurant called Cosme had the most chic, minimal, cool interiors. The Nomad Hotel was completely different to that vibe – more opulent and quirky, but nonetheless inspiring. Spaces that take a risk give me a buzz.
Any amazing products, brands or things you’re loving because they ‘ease the load’, minimised tailspins or saved you from ye old form-function compromise?
My new Aether Rain Jacket is my saviour when walking the dog – very functional and good looking too! Dry shampoo and lash extensions are also great in busy times – this week I have the radio every day, the show at Channel Nine as well as hosting five functions! Those beauty hacks save me from hours of worrying about looking polished. I drive a Lexus which is also reliable and has never let me down when racing around town.
