Your #LifeInBag flat lay exposé. In 1 sentence, please explain.
Easy pack macbook, the non-negotiable 'old school' paper notebook, 5 floating pens, Cygnett charge-up station (a flat iPhone is not an option), at least 1 protein bar, tissues & a min 'inner' neoprene makeup case. Oh, always a spare pair of heels too. Better not forget the snaplock bag of vitamins, and of course my BOSE noise-cancelling headphones!
**Gracie my rescue cat from Capitol Hill, Washington, not included.
Sparro is a testament to high flying females known for their love and dedication to work, and working out. But also…to the one who may have been known to arrive at the gym with her top on inside-out (or backwards – sometimes both). Sound familiar?
I’ve routinely turned up at the gym with literally two of everything except a pair of exercise tights – yup, the one thing I ACTUALLY need!
We love working out for many reasons, but mostly because a solid sweat gets us offline, sharpens our focus and gives us the confidence and energy to smash some serious life goals. Tell us about your current targets (career, life or otherwise).
The daily workout. AM, PM or somewhere in between?
AM. And only in the AM. My daily wakeup is generally at 6am, but typically – before my alarm … this has proven a lot easier of late thanks to a recent northern relocation (from Melbourne to Sydney's Manly).
Your #LifeInBag breakfast of champions looks like …
Soy cappuccino & 1 poached egg on toast. I'm a creature of habit, so it's same-same every morning! I'm lucky to have a handful of great little locals just over the road from my place, so I eat out every morning. It’s crazy easy and super delicious – almost ready to go by the time I take my seat!
Canned tuna for lunch on the go. Legendary, or LEAVE IT BEHIND?
Yep – I’m ALL about canned tuna and cottage cheese when I’m rushing. Serena tuna for sure. Vita-weats on hand if I'm lucky too.
Seriously smart, understated, Scandi-style design gets our wings flapping. What destination, space or event has recently inspired you?
Jardan’s new flagship store in Paddington is an absolute show stopper – just stunning. On a more professional level, I was also fortunate to visit Harvard University for a ‘Women & Power’ course earlier in the year … it was inspirational to say the least. It planted some powerful seeds for change – personally and professionally, and really kicked me along for the rest of the year.
Any amazing products, brands or things you’re loving because they ‘ease the load’, minimised tailspins or saved you from ye old form-function compromise?
I’m pretty obsessed with wearing anything Kit & Ace for travel. They have cashmere that travels SO well – it’s warm, light, low maintenance, minimalist. Generally speaking I love anything that helps me move faster. Even just my Gold QANTAS status – jumping the queue at airports is always a pleasure. On that ... I’m 400 points away from Platinum & counting! Bring it on.
Oh yes - I use my QANTAS app more than anything – couldn’t live without it. Uber gets a good workout too, as does Hotel Lindrum when in Melbourne. As already mentioned, I couldn't live without my BOSE headphones either.
Simple words of wisdom to other Sparro fans looking to mirror your success?
Have the confidence to trust yourself. Do not 'fake it til you make it', WING IT TIL YOU BRING IT!
Trust yourself, and don’t try to be someone else.
