Your #LifeInBag flat lay exposé. In 1 sentence, please explain.
My bag is full of the essentials for teaching and life; drink bottle, diary, notebook (for session planning), trigger point balls, throat spray, hand sanitiser, sweat towel, earphones, grippy socks, sunglasses, glasses and wallet.
Sparro is a testament to high flying females known for their love and dedication to work, and working out. But also…to the one who may have been known to arrive at the gym with her top on inside-out (or backwards – sometimes both). Sound familiar?
I like to be organised, but I don’t take myself too seriously. I’m always covered in bruises from walking into reformers. Making sure my clients have a good time while they work out is the most important thing to me, if you leave with a smile on your face I’ve done my job!
We love working out for many reasons, but mostly because a solid sweat gets us offline, sharpens our focus and gives us the confidence and energy to smash some serious life goals. Tell us about your current targets (career, life or otherwise).
The daily workout. AM, PM or somewhere in between?
I start work most mornings at 6am, so morning workouts only happen maybe once a week, even though they are my favourite way to start the day! Also working evenings means that lunch time workouts are perfect for me, but I often workout evenings when I can. Really, I work out whenever I have some free time (when I’m not teaching).
Your #LifeInBag breakfast of champions looks like …
I love eggs, I eat at least two a day. If I’m at home I’ll make scrambled eggs (without dairy) and throw in some kale or spinach, sweat potato, quinoa, chilli and parsley, add avocado and sauerkraut. If I’m working I take boiled eggs, carrots, fruit and some protein/fat/choc balls that I make. Breakfast for me ALWAYS includes a black coffee (or two).
Canned tuna for lunch on the go. Legendary, or LEAVE IT BEHIND?
I often throw a can of tuna or wild salmon into a salad for lunch, but I’m not a huge fan of having it on it’s own or on the go. I like to sit down and really enjoy my food.
Seriously smart, understated, Scandi-style design gets our wings flapping. What destination, space or event has recently inspired you?
I’m inspired by Little Company, an aesthetic warehouse space in Richmond, Melbourne, dedicated to living skin. They use living ingredients and believe in sustainable practices, plus their salon is like heaven on earth, it’s minimal, earthy and relaxing.
Any amazing products, brands or things you’re loving because they ‘ease the load’, minimised tailspins or saved you from ye old form-function compromise?
Wine eases the load and minimises tailspins! I am a big fan of wine and thus wine bars are one of my favourite places to chill out, enjoy good company, eat delicious food and drink tasty wine. My favourite wine bars are Marion, Underwood, Milton, Bar Liberty and The Moon.
